Our History
The legacy of Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors began in June 1958, just before Thomas’s 15th birthday, when he started working for Abercrombie and Patterson in Forest Park, Clayton County. Over the next 50 years, Thomas dedicated himself to the funeral service industry, developing a deep commitment to guiding families through their most challenging times.
In the 1970s, Thomas built Parkway Garden Chapel and, in 1987, acquired and managed Tara Garden Chapel. Although he is no longer affiliated with these establishments, his influence on their development was significant. Throughout his career, Thomas navigated the evolving landscape of funeral services.
In August 2004, Thomas and Linda Scroggs established Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors with a renewed commitment to personalized, compassionate service. This dedication to excellence and care was reflected in the exceptional service provided and the strong personal connections made with the community.
Thomas L. Scroggs, who passed away in June 2014, left behind a cherished legacy that continues to inspire and guide us. Today, we honor his memory by upholding the values and standards he set.
With a deep respect for the Scroggs family’s dedication to service, we are committed to continuing the tradition of exceptional care. We aim to serve the families of Clayton County and the surrounding areas with the same kindness and professionalism that have always defined our work.
Personal and professional service that has always been our hallmark. We remain devoted to providing comfort and support to the families who trust us during their times of need.
