William "Bill" Charles Petty, of Morrow, passed away on March 24, 2021. No formal arrangements have been made. The family will host a memorial service at a later date. Mr. Petty was born in Atlanta, Ga on March 18, 1933 to the late William and Louise Petty.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary McDuffie Petty; daughter, Alicia Triplett (Sherman) of Stockbridge; son, William "Scott" Petty (Kathryn) of Marietta; grandchildren, Charles Triplett, Matthew Petty, and Daniel Triplett.
Mr. Petty was a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Morrow for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his family and kept in touch with many of his friends from Capitol View Elementary School and Sylvan Hills High School. He was a wonderful husband, father, and PawPaw. In his spare time he enjoyed photography. He was also a trumpet player during elementary school, high school, and for the U.S. Army.
