Thomas "Lane" Plunkett, a dedicated and hardworking man, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023, at his residence. He was born on September 13, 1942, in College Park, GA, to his loving parents, Thomas Lemuel Plunkett and Margaret Louise Plunkett. Lane leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and commitment that will be cherished by all those whose lives he touched.

Lane's life was marked by incredible milestones and achievements. After proudly serving in the United States Army for four years, he went on to have a successful career as a Pest Control Supervisor at Terminix. Lane dedicated three decades to his work with unwavering dedication before retiring for a well-deserved rest.

Outside of his professional life, Lane found joy in various passions and interests. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly fishing, and camping trips that allowed him to appreciate nature's beauty. A keen eye for detail made Lane an excellent photographer who captured many precious moments with his loved ones. As an avid sports fan, he closely followed the Atlanta Falcons and the Atlanta Braves, supporting his favorite teams through their ups and downs.

Furthermore, Lane derived immense happiness from being a devoted husband to Jacqulyn Camp Plunkett for an incredible 59 years. Their union was one built on love, trust, and mutual respect. Together they weathered life's challenges and celebrated countless milestones side by side.

Lane's faith also played an integral role in his life. As a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church for over five decades, he found solace in his spiritual community and drew strength from his beliefs.

In addition to his wife Jacqulyn Camp Plunkett, Lane is survived by his loving children Kenneth Plunkett and his wife Leah and daughter Delaine Stewart and her husband Paul. His adoring grandchildren Heather Rose with her husband Dustin, Hunter Day, Kasey Day, and Ryan and Casy Matthews great-grandchildren Kailynn Davis, Trinady and Lily Smith and Layla and Ben, brought him endless joy and pride. Lane also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. Lane is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Plunkett, and his siblings, Cybil Duncan, and Gary Plunkett.

Lane's family will receive friends for a visitation on October 30, 2023, at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors in Morrow, GA. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude at 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, a Graveside Service will be held at College Park Cemetery in College Park, GA. The service will commence at 1:30 PM.
