Ruth S. Plunkett

Ruth S. Plunkett passed away on December 13, 2019; just 4 months after her 101st birthday. A celebration of her life will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home prior to service from 1pm-2pm. Interment will be private.

She was a resident of Clayton County for 55 years. She taught 4th grade at Mountain View School, then became the librarian at Brown Elementary School, organizing their first library. She enjoyed this work very much and enjoyed being around children who were curious about life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Plunkett. Her life was full of family who loved her which included three children, three grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
