Pamela Benson, of Riverdale, passed away on February 25, 2021. She was born in Atlanta on July 27, 1950 to the late Howell Phillip Mercer and Mary Sue Heldmann Mercer. Mrs. Benson dedicated her life to teaching; beginning her career in Fulton County. After retiring from Fulton County she went on to teach for Clayton County.
There will be no formal arrangements.
Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband, David Benson; son, David Clark Benson; brother, Kenneth Mercer; and parents, Phil and Mary Sue Mercer. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn Mercer Peoples (Jimmy) of Conley; brothers, Matthew Mercer (Sue) of Morganton and Howell Mercer (Ellen) of East Point; grandchildren, Dagen Benson, Amelia Benson, and Miranda Benson, numerous nieces and nephews.
