Madelyn Ann Luedtke

July 14, 1946 - April 14, 2026

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Madelyn Ann Luedtke, 79. Born at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA, she was raised in Morrow, GA, near Joy Lake, alongside her five siblings.

Madelyn was a spirited mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is remembered by her children, Chris Luedtke, Nick (Simone) Luedtke, Stacy Luedtke, and Ellen Huffman and by her cherished grandchildren: Madeleine (Dakota) Fulton, Mason Cline, Hunter Cline, Brooklynne (Layton) Davis, Colin Cline, Audrey Luedtke, Jakob Luedtke, Quinn Luedtke, and Charlotte Luedtke. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill Belle Isle, DeLores Wiggins, and Hal Belle Isle, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William A. and Eloise Belle Isle; her siblings Otis Belle Isle and Teresa Hughes; and her beloved son, Timothy Luedtke, whom she now joins in heaven.

Madelyn is also remembered by her devoted childhood friend, Jane Luetkemeyer, and her close friend Pam Parker. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Cheri Aiello, Deb Conklin, and many other friends and family for their care and support during this time.

A woman of determination and intellect, Madelyn graduated from Jonesboro Senior High School and earned her Associate of Arts in Nursing from Lander College. She later received her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing, with a minor in Healthcare Management, from the University of South Alabama.

Rising from Staff Nurse to Director of Surgical Services, her 24-year nursing career was a source of great pride. She was especially honored to speak before Congress on behalf of veterans regarding Operating Room funding for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

Madelyn loved to travel and explored much of Europe, as well as Canada. She found joy skiing in Colorado and held a special place in her heart for New Hampshire, where she lived and captured the beauty of New England through her landscape photography.

At home, she expressed her love through baking-sharing beignets, birthday cakes, cinnamon raisin bread, and holiday cinnamon rolls. Traditions that will be cherished for generations.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Lewis Funeral Homes Milton Chapel, 6405 Highway 90 West, Milton, Florida 32570, from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m.

An additional service will be held in Georgia at a later date at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Home, followed by a graveside burial at Sherwood Memorial Park.
