Josephine "Jo" Jones

   On Saturday, October 6, 2018,  Jo Jones passed from this earth to begin her forever life in heaven.  Jo was 84 and lived in Forest Park, GA.  She was born on July 13, 1934 in Thomaston, GA.  She graduated from Griffin High School and attended Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.  Celebration of life will be held Saturday,  October 13^th at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home in Morrow, GA. Visitation begins at 11:00 A.M. with services at 1:00 P.M. Burial is immediately following at Old Jones Memorial Methodist Church Cemetery on Forest Parkway.

   Jo’s greatest joy in life was her love for God, closely followed by her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and her extended family of God.  She took great pride in her work as an RN at the Children’s Center of Clayton County. Preceded in death by her parents, George Harrison Colquitt and Cherry Ethel Colquitt and brothers Harry and John Colquitt. Jo was a loving and caring daughter. In 1997 her life was forever changed when her husband, best friend, and travel mate, J. W. Jones, left this earth and her life was rocked again when her son Mark (Lambert) lost his battle to colon cancer, but her faith in God always remained strong.

   Jo is survived by a loving family; daughter, Tawna (Greg) Findley; bonus children, Barbara (Dan) Jones,  Sandy Jones,  Richard Jones,  Mary (John) Staas, Glad (Marty) Simmons; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lambert Smith;  sister-in-law Sue Colquitt. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

 The world has lost a true servant of God and heaven is brighter today because of her presence.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
