Lester Jefferson Bates, of McDonough, passed away on September 17, 2021. A graveside service will be held at County Line United Methodist Church Cemetery, Griffin GA, on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 am. Rev. Ben Hunley will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 pm - 7 pm.
He is survived by his daughter Judi Bates of Griffin; son, Scott Bates (Lindsay) of Griffin; sister, Hazel Pless of Suwanee; brother, Herbert Bates of Atlanta; grandchildren, Daetyn Bates and Eastyn Bates; nephew, Mike Pless (Irene) of Suwanee; former wife and beloved friend, Pat Bates of Griffin.
