“Quiet Storm”

LaMarcus Lawrence was an adorable baby boy born to Johnny D. Lawrence and Barbara Booker Lawrence on the 11th day of July summer of 1973 in York, Alabama. As the eldest of "The Lawrence Boys", LaMarcus, from an early age, showed that he was an intelligent, talented, and hardworking young man waiting to make his mark on the world. His younger brothers loved him as he always tried to be the best big brother and be an excellent example for them to follow. He thrived in his education and musical endeavors. Even before earning his two degrees, A Bachelor of Science of Information Technology and an Associate of Applied Science degree from Clayton State University, he was a National Honor Society Student and National Honor Band Student in high school. His love and belief for education continued to shine through during his years as an instructor at Javelin Technical College. Even recently, he was currently working on his Master's Degree in Information Technology. LaMarcus went on to have a successful career in Information Technology, even serving as a Lead Security Analyst and Chief Information Security Officer for multiple organizations. LaMarcus walked through life believing all things were possible with belief in God and yourself. This was apparent in his entrepreneurial and inspirational spirit that showed wherever he went. He always looked for the positive in everyone he met and everything he did, understanding that his light and energy were essential to accomplishing anything. He brought this same light and energy to everything he enjoyed doing, such as acting, singing, playing/producing music, skateboarding, modeling, learning/ teaching about anything to do with technology. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and being a Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity member. It was even on display in 1994 when LaMarcus successfully walked onto the Mississippi State University football team despite having never played football a day in his life. LaMarcus believed God gives us the most remarkable example of a father's love. His biggest passion was being a Dad. His children gave him purpose, and nothing in life made him happier. He had deep love and pride for his children (Lonnice, Taylor, and granddaughter Lourdes). LaMarcus, the Father, Grandfather, Son, Grandson, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Fraternity Brother, and Friend will be dearly missed by son Taylor Lawrence, daughter Lonnice Lawrence, granddaughter Lourdes Lawrence and former wife Lynette Lawrence, devoted father Johnny Lawrence, loving mother Barbara Lawrence, brothers Sedrick D. (Yaskia) Lawrence and Gavin D. Lawrence, adorable nieces Tajia, Anya & Jasmine Lawrence, and Nadia Surry; caring grandmother Cassie Parker, special friend Stephanie Jones, The Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi, Incorporated and a host of family members and friends. LaMarcus was a delightful person and will be greatly missed!
