Obituary

Kim Elliott Waldrop, born December 6, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia and a long-time resident of Lake City, Georgia, passed away on June 9, 2026. Kim was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Waldrop and his father, Joel Waldrop. He is survived by his three children —Matthew Waldrop , Cori Waldrop and Jessica Waldrop, his Fiancé, Natalie Hynson, his parents Bob and Mary Harris, his four sisters—Tina Pritchett , Angie Bailey (Bubba) Crystal Waldrop (Garret) and Carrie Hoppenbrouwer (Ben), his grandchildren—Braelin and Ty Waldrop, his Aunt Cheri Crisp, Uncle David Waldrop (Sharon) and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces , nephews and dear friends . Kim was a dedicated CDL Freight Hauler. He began his career at Purolator Courier in his early twenties. Due to ongoing changes within the company, he remained loyal and accepted a part-time position there while also working other jobs to provide. Multiple mergers occurred between 1991-2004, when Kim finally became a full-time employee with UPS. He remained a loyal, dedicated employee with UPS until he retired in April 2026.

Kim was a man of few words with a gentle spirit. He accepted Christ at an early age and his relationship with God was the foundation of his character, bringing him strength, peace and purpose. Kim valued every person he met and had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen and appreciated.

He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life—hunting, collecting Indian artifacts, antiquing, hiking and wind therapy by motorcycle. He loved music and shared it enthusiastically with others. He was a skilled dart player, where he valued the competition and camaraderie of friends.

Kim’s love for animals was evident in the care and affection he showed to them. There was not a dog who didn’t gravitate towards him, nor a turtle he wouldn’t assist across the road, nor a wounded animal he wouldn’t try to save.

He was many things to many people—loving fatherand son, cherished fiancé devoted brother, loyal friend, trusted mentor and faithful servant of God.

Kim lived by the belief that life is too short to spend worrying. Instead, he chose to focus on Faith, Family, Friends and the simple joys of each day.
