Judy Smith

Judy Smith passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on May 6, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia, Judy was a woman of faith and family, cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Judy was a devoted mother to her three children: April Wilson (Eric), Ashley Robinson (Seth), and Joseph Chase Smith. She took immense pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, imparting love and wisdom to her grandchildren: Blake, Miranda, Jazz, Casey, Kay, Joseph, Jayden, Caden, and Jenesis. As a great grandmother, she treasured her time with Braxton, Cayson, and Jameson, whom she adored deeply.

Judy's warmth and caring nature extended beyond her immediate family. She is remembered fondly by her sisters, Norma Roberts, Linda Chafin, and Christy Best; brothers, Walter and Ricky Snipes; sister-in-law, Cathy, as well as friends and loved ones who were touched by her kindness and generosity.

Sadly, Judy was preceded in death by her father, Walter Snipes; her mother, Betty Snipes; her sister, Brenda Love; her brother, Terry Snipes; and her niece, Pam, and nephew, Joseph. The bonds she shared with them were strong and lasting, and they will always be missed.

Known for her love of the Lord, family gatherings, and gospel music, Judy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including dancing and shopping at Wal-Mart. Her faith was a guiding light, influencing all those around her.

A service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held on April 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors located at 6362 South Lee St., Morrow, GA 30260. Beginning at 12:00 pm, friends and family are invited to gather to honor her memory and the impact she made on so many lives.

Judy will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her surviving family, who will continue to carry her spirit with them as they navigate life without her.
