James Anthony "Tony" Morris went home to his Lord on August 18, 2019. He was born January 26, 1956 in Atlanta, GA. He grew up in College Park, GA, surrounded by family and love. He is predeceased by his parents, Eddie Jay and Rebecca Mae Morris. Tony is survived by his wife, Deborah Benton Morris of Stockbridge; daughter, Amy Bixby of Covington; grandchildren, Clayton Bixby, U.S. Army, Heather, Courtney, and Casey Bixby of Covington; brothers, Mike Morris (Leslie) Jonesboro and Tim Morris (Lanie) Columbus, GA.; treasured sister-in-law, Judy Smitherman of Montevallo, AL; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He enjoyed working at Bannister's Upholstery for many years before becoming an on-road trucker and finally a film industry transportation member of Teamsters local 728. Until his illness, he worked in the Georgia TV and film production industry that included several Marvel Movies.
Tony adored his wife, Debbie, of 36 years, and found his joy in family togetherness. He loved camping, cookouts, visits to the beach, and talking with everyone. He was a mega fan of the Georgia Dawgs, Falcons, Braves, and NASCAR. He will be missed by many because he was loved by all. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, Morrow, Ga., 770-961-2828 in charge of arrangements.
