James W. Nicholson, 86, of Lake City, passed away on September 12, 2022. A memorial service will be held at The Rock Baptist Church on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Steve Foster will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church prior to service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment of ashes will be held at Lower Bell Creek Cemetery, 491 Hogsed Road, Hiawassee, GA 30546 on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
Mr. Nicholson was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie & Grace Nicholson; granddaughter, Amanda Nicholson; brother, Doug Nicholson. He will be missed by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Nicholson; sons, Dennis Nicholson (Jan), and Steven Nicholson (Lisa); sister-in-law, Pat Nicholson; grandchildren, Justin Couch (Allison), Samantha Brown (Matthew), and Emily Nicholson; great grandchildren, Carver Couch, Collin Couch, and Marlee Couch, numerous nieces and nephews.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the general fund of The Rock Baptist Church or Lower Bell Creek Cemetery.
