James B. McCord, Jr.

James B. McCord, Jr., 95, of Jonesboro, passed away on March 14, 2020. Mr. McCord was a WWII veteran serving in the Army-Air Corp as a gunner on an A-20 Havoc. His love of airplanes led him to a career at Eastern Airlines where he retired after over 30 years of service. No formal arrangements have been made at this time. A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date. 

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Arleen McCord; daughters, Pam McCann (Patrick) of Jonesboro and Joyce Vaughn (Bo) of Jackson; son, Jeff McCord of Atlanta;  grandchildren, Josh Hairston, Anna Hairston, Sarah Clay (Lance), Noah Vaughn(Ashley); great grandchildren, Luke, Leah, Gabriel, James, Jackson, Molly, Greyson, Cole, Wyatt, and Easton; nephew, Mike McCord (Petra).
