Hilda Chesser Morgan, age 77, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025.
Hilda will be remembered for her intelligence, dedication to her family, and love of animals. Hilda’s faith in Jesus Christ was unwavering, lived daily through service, love, and devotion to her family.
Hilda was born on September 22, 1948, in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended O’Keefe High School, where she distinguished herself academically as the valedictorian. She went on to enjoy an accomplished career at Westinghouse, where she was respected for her dedication and professionalism.
In Atlanta, Hilda met and married the love of her life, David Morris Morgan, celebrating their 51st Anniversary this past February. David and Hilda had two sons David and Doug who they raised in Lawrenceville before moving to Hahira, GA in 1992.
Hilda had a lifelong love of horses. She rode, showed, and devoted many years to their care and training. Hilda also cherished traveling across the country with her husband, David, and enjoyed attending car shows with him, creating many treasured memories along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Lillian Chesser and James Thomas Chesser; her sister, Linda Darnel Chesser; and her brother, James Marvin Chesser.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Morris Morgan; her sons, Douglas Ted Morgan, and David Michael Morgan; her daughter-in-law, Shannon Skripsky Morgan; her grandsons, Brody, Reese, Tripp, and Blake; and her siblings, Brenda Joan Self, Sandra Lauranzi, and Wanda Chesser Ahlsen.
