Obituary for Gregory Alan Bryant

Gregory Alan Bryant, of Morrow, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. Alan was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 19, 1958, the first born of his parents, Rufus and Marie. As time would show, he was a gift of God to our country, community, and family. He was a 1976 graduate of Forest Park Senior High School in Forest Park, Georgia. He served in the Georgia Air National Guard, 129th Tactical Control Squadron from 1976 to 1982, which provided his basic and technical training on which he built his career in advanced electronics, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Alan's career path ultimately ended in his own licensed company, Bryant Electrical Contracting and subsequent employment and retirement from both MARTA and Georgia Tech Facilities Maintenance Division.

Alan was dedicated to his wife, Gloria, and loved Jesus, serving as a Deacon and a Trustee in the governing body of Rock Springs Baptist Church. In his younger days with a former church affiliation, Alan ministered to children in the Awana program and fed the homeless. Alan enjoyed spending holidays and special occasions with his wife and family. Alan and Gloria traveled the United States and made many memories. Together, they were members of the Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club with which they participated in charity rides.

Alan was affectionately known by his family of origin, niece and nephews as Albert Alligator Pencil Chomper, Unkie-Unkie-Unkie, and Unkie Unyun (Onion) when the children were too young to pronounce "Alan". He loved trucks and always won the competition with his Irish Twin for the nicest, newest truck.

Alan was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his loving wife of just shy of 32 years, Gloria Bryant, parents, Rufus and Marie Bryant, brother Donald (Susan) Bryant, sisters Lisa (Burt) Crapo and Cynthia Bryant Rodgers, nephews Christopher King and Israel King, niece Meaghan Webster, loving cousins and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00pm at Rock Springs Baptist Church, 6362 South Lee Street, Morrow, Georgia 30260. Pastor Mark McKee officiating.
