George Randall "Rudy" Dewberry, known for his dedication and service in the narcotics division for the Clayton County Police Department, has peacefully passed away with his son Kasey & granddaughter Tayler holding his hand. Born in Rockmart, Georgia, in 1948, Rudy leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.

 

Rudy was a man of many passions; from his 28 years of service in law enforcement to his love for hunting and fishing, he lived life to the fullest. One of his fondest memories was traveling to the Colorado mountains to hunt elk, a testament to his adventurous spirit. Rudy was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending time with his family above all else.

 

Described as a devoted husband of 55 years to Kitty, Rudy was the heart and protector of his family. His kind soul and unwavering loyalty made him the best friend anyone could ask for. Rudy's proudest accomplishments included marrying Kitty and being a loving father to his two children.

 

In addition to his wife Kitty, Rudy is survived by his children Kelly Patton & husband Jeff, Kasey Dewberry, James Betts. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Gaga”; Mallery, Drake, Kaden, Noah, Tayler & husband Jr., Parker & wife Kenzi, Logan, Karson, as well as great-grandchildren Jamie, E.J., Kaison, Weston, Cindaya, and soon-to-arrive baby McKenna. He is also survived by his nephew Jason Blasingame & wife Michelle, sister-in-law Shirley Blasingame, beloved family friend Andrew Baker, and cherished neighbor Ms. Rose along with many other family members and friends, .

 

Rudy Dewberry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors. A Memorial Service will be held in Rudy's honor on Saturday, April 6, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Scroggs with Rev. Don Colburn officiating. 
 

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Rudy's name to Locks of Love at www.locksoflove.org or send a check to Locks of Love 234 Southern Blvd. West Palm Beach, FL 33405.
