As a licensed practical nurse, then later becoming the Immunization Coordinator at the Clayton County Health Department for many years, she tirelessly worked to ensure the well-being of her community. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Freda's true joy came from time spent with her family. Known for her exceptional cooking skills inherited from her mother, she took pride in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones and having Sunday suppers that brought everyone together. Freda leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be carried on by her surviving family members: Walter Sheppard (husband), Chad Sheppard (son), Ashley Sheppard (daughter-in-law), Phillip Walden (brother), Polly Walden (sister-in-law), Kristina (niece), and Toni (niece). She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Fred Walden and Ruby Walden.
In loving memory of Freda Walden Sheppard, a celebration of her life will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors in Morrow, GA. A visitation will take place on July 25th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The burial will be held at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough at 3:30 PM.
