Obituary for Ferman David Trammell

Ferman David Trammell passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, humility, and love for the simple things in life.

Ferman retired from Kmart Distribution after years of dedicated service. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in providing for his family. Outside of work, Ferman found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He had a deep love for horses and spent many years raising and training them. He also cherished his loyal dogs, Copper and Duck, who were constant companions.

Ferman enjoyed watching football and basketball, passions that dated back to his high school years when he played both sports. In his quieter moments, he loved riding around his property on his tractor, taking in the land he cared for so deeply. He was also a fan of old Western television shows, often spending evenings enjoying the classics. Known for his humble and frugal nature, Ferman lived a life rooted in gratitude, simplicity, and strength.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Roxanne Walters and Dayna Trammell; his grandchildren, Lori Walters, Rachel Bridges (Chris), and Blayne Trammell; his great-grandchildren, Kyle Craven, Mikah Bridges (Gracie), Maddox Bridges (Rileigh), Leia Bridges, and Chelsea; and his great-great-grandchild, Mo Bridges. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Ferman was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Thomas Trammell, They were married for 61 years. He was also preceded in death by his only son, David Trammell, and his youngest daughter, Christy Peavy Trammell. Also, his parents, Frank and Marie Trammell; and his siblings, Arnette Butler, Hoyt Trammell, Eugene Trammell, Hansel Trammell, Maurice Trammell, and Exor Babb.


A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

Ferman will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, deep values, and unwavering love for his family and the life he built.
