Doug Sheffer

Douglas Stephen Sheffer, "Doug", of Panama City Beach, FL., passed away on August 25, 2021 following a brief illness. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 2:30 pm. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home prior to service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Mr. Sheffer was born on July 11, 1948 in Troy, NY to the late Edwin William Sheffer and Mildred Ann Trammell Bedford. He had a big generous heart, loved his family, and he especially loved his two dogs, Harley and Tucker. Mr. Sheffer served his country as a seaman in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a truck driver for most of his life and went on to be a driver for the Bay Town Trolley in Panama City for the past 10 years. He served his community well and had a loyal following for the riders on his routes. He was preceded in death by his son, Ed Sheffer and his brother, Terry Sheffer. He is survived by his daughter, Wendi Gladden (Scott) of Fountain, FL; grandchildren, Ariel Sheffer, Damian Sheffer, Bailee Gladden, and Brenden Gladden; 3 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and nieces, Dana Vinson (Lance) and Crystal Arnold (Brian) cousin, Mickey Trammell (Cindy) and other extended family.
