David Morgan, 77, of Hahira, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born on December 23, 1948, in Forest Park, Georgia, David was the son of Ted and Mary Morgan and the middle child of six children. He graduated from Forest Park High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, David dedicated 43 years of service to Georgia Power Company, where he built a career marked by hard work and loyalty. A devoted husband and father. David worked tirelessly to ensure that those he loved were provided for.
David was a man of faith who maintained a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He had a deep appreciation for the pastors who encouraged and guided him throughout his life.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hilda Morgan, who passed away on December 17, 2025.
He is survived by his sons, David Michael Morgan and Douglas Ted Morgan; his daughter-in-law, Shannon Morgan; his brothers, Doug Morgan and Thomas Morgan; and his cherished grandchildren, Brody Morgan, Reese Morgan, Tripp Morgan, and Blake Morgan.
David passed away in the place he loved most—his home. More than a house, it was the home he and his beloved wife built together and lovingly maintained for over 30 years. It was his favorite place on earth, where he found joy in the simple things.
David will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend. His quiet strength, unwavering faith, steadfast love for his family, and lifelong commitment to providing for those he loved will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, 6362 South Lee Street, Morrow, Georgia 30260. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m at Thomas L Scroggs Chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
