Mariann Zawistoski Furey

Mariann Z. Furey, 81, of Sarasota Florida passed away Sunday January 24. 2016 at Magnolia Assisted Living Facility. Mariann was born in Dekalb, Mississippi on January 19, 1935 and was preceeded in death by her parents, her sister, Dorothy Wheeless of Forest Park, Georgia, and brother, Joseph Tyler of Atlanta, Georgia. Mariann lived in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and New Jersey before retiring to Sarasota with her husband of almost 40 years, John J. Furey. She is survived by her husband; 3 sons, Bruce Barge of Melbourne, Florida, David Boyd of Sarasosta, Florida and Michael Shurley of McDonough Georgia, 2 stepsons, Brian and Johnny Furey of New Jersey; 3 nephews and 1 niece, 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited for visitation Friday evening January 29th from 5pm to 8 pm at Thomas L Scroggs Funeral Directors in Morrow Georgia. A graveside service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 30th at 11am.
