Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home closed its locations in Jonesboro and Morrow. The economy and poor health of owner Abner P. Dickson, Jr., were contributing factors in closing the funeral home according to one of Pope Dickson’s former managers.According to the manager, the decision to close the home was made a month and a half ago. Pope Dickson stopped accepting new business at the end of April and has finished all work in progress.Funded pre-need services, as well as non-funded services, have been transferred to family-owned home, Thomas Scroggs Funeral Directors.
